NIHIL produces recycled PET Sweaters

After introducing our tencell t-shirts made from wood chips, NIHIL has produced a sweater using this recycled
polyester fabric. The polyester will add strength and durability to the garment. The PET is combined with 70% organic
cotton to ensure the nice feeling of the fabric.

For men NIHIL produced the sturdy looking Anabolica Sweater, for women the more elegant Voltex Sweater.

PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is used for the production of packaging materials like bottles for water and soft drinks.
After use, these PET materials become waste, contributing to the ever growing piles of rubbish that besiege our cities.
But there is an alternative! PET can very well be recycled in, for example, clothing.

Since the first PET materials were recycled in 1977, major progress has been made in PET recycling.
Because of this advancement it is now possible to turn recycled PET fibres into other things like
comfortable & durable clothing. The most important feature of recycled polyester fabrics is the source of
the fibre - soda pop bottles. The bottles are refined and purified, chopped up and processed into spun fibre strands.
These strands are then knitted and woven into fabric.

In the collection of 2011 NIHIL will introduce more eco- friendly clothing.
This range will be available in March 2011. Please join us to follow these developments.

Fashionable climbing jeans to get into the urban mood

History of jeans (from Wikipedia)

The first jeans was made by Levi Straus in 1873. This garment, originally designed for work, became more and more popular
by teenagers in the '50s. Dress to impress! At this moment jeans are the most sold piece of clothing in the world.

Initially, jeans were simply sturdy trousers worn by workers, especially in the factories during World War II. During this period, men's jeans had the zipper down the front, whereas women's jeans had the zipper down the right side. By the 1960s, both men's and women's jeans had the zipper down the front. Historic photographs indicate that in the decades before they became a staple of fashion, jeans generally fit quite loosely, much like a pair of bib overalls without the bib.

This is why we thought the jeans should be an essential item in our collection. Our new showpiece is made from cotton and 32% T 400. The T 400 material provides stretch and makes the pants extra strong. The jeans are finished with grunge front and back pockets and contrasting white stitching.

For women we designed the trendy rather skinny Furyax Jeans which makes climbing on rocks very comfortable. For men we made the more straight cut Livin Large Jeans.
